Today a number of our users have been losing access to Figma files.

• We have an SSO account.

• Both View and Editor licenses seem to be impacted.


Team members in various cross-functional teams are reaching out to request re-access permissions to files they own or have been previously granted access permissions.


A separate but perhaps related issue…Last week I was personally presented with a pop-up message stating I no longer had access to a file. I dismissed the message and was immediately able to edit the file as if nothing had happened.

Same issue here, anyone who previously had access to a file but is not a member of the team owning the file got kicked out.


Maybe there was an update on how permissions work?


@Jeff_Williams @Adele1 I checked in with our support team on this, and they’d like botho of you to file tickets, so they can check to see what’s going on with your seats.

Also @Adele1 - when you fill out the form, please write in using the email address you have your paid Figma seat under. It looks like you’re only a free user with the account you have associated with this community profile.


I think I have been affected by this issue. I have also raised a bug.

I changed the email behind my google account a while ago - I’m not sure if that has somehow affected it.


Our members are getting kicked out also. We have SSO too.

Please also fill out this form and shared the URLs of the files affected here. so the support team can have a look. (i see in our backend that Brett_Stables’s has been solved via email, by checking their settings). Thank you!


Even I have been facing the same issue, multiple files have disappeared and I have a file sharing link to that file but some how it not sending an acces request. The file is not deleted i have checked everything. It just disappeared.


Hi @Ameya_Mistry1 - I saw that you have an open support ticket about this, and that someone has reached out to you there to further help. Apologies for any confusion that came of out this.


I’m actually going to close this topic, since it is older. I’d also like to ask that anyone new that comes across this thread, who runs into issues with files disappearing, and/or files accidentally/maliciously deleted to do one of two things:



  • File a support ticket here. This is the preferred method. When it comes to these specific problems, our team runs into an issue where we have limited access to what we can see/look for in your accounts. Our support team can help you directly via email.

  • Create a new forum topic and provide any details you think are helpful (but please be aware that this is a public forum). We can do our best to help, but may still need to send you over to the support team.
