(Note: This idea is NOT referring to the “Instance Swap” component property.)

In addition to “Local components” and “Recently used” options when someone selects a component’s name in the properties panel in order to swap it to another instance, I’d love to be able to choose a set of Preferred components/variants for folks to be able to quickly switch to.

Right now, the fastest way might be searching, but navigating the component tree (going up a level, finding the right page, and the right component within another page) is extremely cumbersome.

This could work almost identically to how the Instance Swap property’s Preferred instance menu does. (see https://twitter.com/figma/status/1640753156723179520)
