As prototyping is a big part of work, sometimes you want to edit smart components for animation purposes or, as tech gets more fluid, to experiment. Having to break a color style fill to change it’s opacity (or even hide it for a frame) sucks. Same with smart components. Having to break a component just to change it’s size sucks. Anytime any of the right side options are greyed out, as a safety guardrail, it just adds more work. The “restore component” feature is enough of a safeguard.
