I’ve been trying to open locally saved Figma files through the desktop app and it just doesn’t do anything other than open the last Figma file that I had open. I’ve tried with Figma already open, double clicking on the file with Figma closed. I’ve tried with numerous files that are working fine in the cloud by saving them locally and then trying to open them. Nothing. No errors, no warnings. Just NOTHING.

Hey @Manuel_Barrio, thanks for reaching out and sorry for the confusion!

I have a feeling you may be trying to “launch” the .fig file from your desktop app, but .fig files are just a sequence of information that tells Figma what to fetch from the server — they’re not really local files.

What you’ll need to do is import this file into Figma – you can see how to do that here:

Figma Learn - Help Center

Not only was that not the case but it’s taken well over a year to get a reply!

I’m not sure whether to laugh or cry.
