Components are a source of truth and even though you want editors using instances of your components to be able to make changes, you should have control over what they can change and what’s off limits. If users can change border-radius, padding, auto-layout settings, type settings and more in any instance of your component, this introduces discrepancies, confusion and your master component loses its value as a source of truth.

Granular control over what can and can’t be changed will allow teams everywhere to build more robust and consistent design systems. Just my two cents.
