Is there a way to view prototypes (if there is one) from the community file page? Today I would have to duplicate the file in order to see if there’s a prototype (and then view from the draft file). But could there be a read-only prototype mode that’s available without duplication?

This is not possible, however when publishing the author could explicitly set it to show the prototype instead of the file. So for some files you can view a file, for others a prototype.
