Need urgent Help! Connection error: -106

Facing this error while trying to open any of my Figma project files: Connection error: -106

Hi @Salman7 ,
Welcome to the community, and sorry to hear this happening!

In order to cover some troubleshooting:

1. Can you check and confirm if you see the same problem in any other browsers you have on your computer? Our supported browsers are Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.

2. Can you try and clear out your cache in the browser and Desktop app and check if this helps?
You can clear the desktop app cache on a Mac in the Help menu under Troubleshooting. If you’d prefer to manually clear your cache you can:

  1. Quit the Figma desktop app
  2. Open Terminal.app and enter the following command: rm -rf “$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma”
  3. Try opening the desktop app again

On Windows:

  1. Close the Figma desktop app.
  2. Open the Start menu and paste the %APPDATA%\\Figma command. Press the Enter key to submit.
  3. In the window, delete the DesktopProfile folder.
  4. Launch the Figma desktop app again.

3. Does this also happen on another network, like a mobile hotspot?
If it’s just happening on one network, you may need to adjust your proxy VPN or firewall settings as shown in Technical troubleshooting tips or speak to your IT Admins or ISP. Generally for problems affecting a single network we’re not able to troubleshoot as it would require access to your system or network settings.
(To give more details, if you’re using Figma behind a Firewall, proxy or Virtual Private Network (VPN), you may see this error message. We typically suggest reaching out to your IT department or systems administrator to unblock Port 443 and safe-list *.Figma.com . This is the standard port for websites that are run over SSL.)

If this doesn’t help, I would recommend you to reach our directly to the support team by using your Figma account email here.
If this is happening to a specific file (not all files), please include a link to the file, and share it with support-share@figma.com, so we can take a closer look. Thank you!
