I can't join two vector anchor line, I am having to redesign a two shape

I can’t join two anchors line, having to redesign a two shape that I am supposed to easily just join. Drawing a two-shape that is just a mirror away. Any help around this. I have been battling with this problem for a while now I can use help now please.

Did you try to select both and flatten it, make it “one vector”. then Join two points by Ctr+J
