Figma Slides: Interacting with prototype in Notes view does not reflect in the Audience's view

Recently, it seems that now interacting with prototypes in the Notes view of presentation mode in Figma Slides does not reflect what the audience is seeing in their view of the presentation. I have to move my cursor away from my notes to the audiences view of the slides and interact with the prototype there. This seems like a bug to me. It was not performing this way last week.

Additionally, another update that seems to have happened at the same time is that prototypes in Slides load automatically and do not need to be clicked on to load, this is OK, but in my use case, i wanted 2 prototypes on the screen at once (Before & After versions), and having them load at the same time causes confusion. Having an option to load immediately or start on click would be helpful.

I’m experiencing the same issue from yesterday. Have you figured it out?

Hey everyone — thanks so much for flagging this. 🙏🏻 I wanted to check in to see if you’re still encountering this issue and help narrow things down a bit.

To clarify a few details:

  • Does this happen only when using the Present + Notes option in Figma Slides?
  • Are you seeing it in the browser, the Figma Desktop App, or both?
  • If you’re using the app, are you running the latest version (125.8.9)?

If all of those check out and you’re still running into trouble, it’ll be helpful to share a bit more context on how this is affecting your presentation workflow, along with the file where it’s occurring. You can connect directly with our Product Support team through this secure form — when you do, please include:

  1. the link to this Forum thread for context
  2. a full-size screen recording of the issue (if possible)
  3. a link to the affected file
  4. and ensure support-share@figma.com has “Can edit” access.

Thanks again for taking the time to share this — keep us posted on how it’s going!

I’m experiencing the same issue. When presenting with a prototype, I interact with the embedded prototype in Presenter View — it works on that screen but doesn’t reflect on the audience view.

Additionally, when I share my screen, the cursor moves in the Presenter View but isn’t visible on the audience (overview) screen.

Details:
• Figma version: Latest (125.8.9)
• Platform: Figma Desktop App and Browser (issue occurs on both)
• Behavior: Happens only when using the Present + Notes option in Figma Slides

Hi @kimnguyen — thanks so much for sharing those details and taking the time to describe what you’re seeing.

I was able to reproduce the issue on my end, and our engineering team is aware and investigating a fix. While I don’t have a specific timeline to share just yet, we’ll be keeping an eye on progress and will follow up once there’s an update.

Appreciate everyone for flagging this and helping us get a closer look. 🙏🏻

Hey! I’m facing the same issue. I also remember being able to point at things with my cursor in the Presenter view, and seeing it on the Audience view, but thats no longer the case. This directly affects how we present to executives. Would really appreciate a solve, thank you!!

Hi @Nikhil — thanks for flagging this and for explaining how the cursor in the Presenter view impacts your presentations. I’ve been checking this as well, and our engineering team is continuing to investigate the behavior you’re seeing.
I really appreciate you taking the time to share these details, and your patience as the team works toward a resolution.
