When I use local fonts in my design, will viewers see them correctly without having them installed?

I have a quick question and I can’t find the answer anywhere.

When I use local fonts in my design and then share my design file with viewers, will they see the fonts when they don’t have them installed?

I understand editors would have to have them installed to edit the file. But in my testing, the fonts display correctly to viewers. So is it true that viewers will see my local fonts in the file correctly without having them installed?

Is it because Figma outlines the fonts for viewers? So I can share my designs with clients (as viewers) without making them install fonts?

Yes, viewers will see them correctly. I believe they are outlined for viewers.
