I send designers to our documentation site all the time so they can see how a component works on the page, as well as all the options and properties they have. In Figma the “View Documentation” link is only visible in the Inspect tab, which is not a place designers typically hang out.
My suggestion is to place a link to documentation in both tabs - either under the description (like it is in the Inspect tab) or perhaps in the overflow menu next to Detach Instance.
