A lot of times we prefer to zoom to a position where we can see the entire screen; but then if you want to select a small object and then move it, it’s really difficult as the cursor changes to a scaling or a rotating one way too soon.
Below is a gif showing how soon the cursor changes as it approaches the object. I am using a screen of 375x812px and a small object of 24x24px, sizes I believe we as UI designers work with very often.
