I want to use SVG files as image fills for shapes and frames in Figma. This is commonly done on the web, so it will better reflect that for devs, and it will allow much better background pattern creation and editing experience for designers.
For example to make a simple dot grid background pattern I make a square frame and add circles to each corner. Currently I have to export that to PNG and then use it as a tiled image fill on another frame, then if I don’t like the size of the dots or grid, I have to go back and change the original frame and re-export it at that size. If I could use SVG files as image fills I would just change the tile sizing and the background pattern would resize and remain sharp.
