Good morning,
I am a teacher at an Italian public school.
I work mainly with 13/16 year olds. In the “web and digital economy” course classes we also cover web graphics software. I would also like to teach students Figma. I have loved Figma since the first time I used it and it is perfect, so I was wondering how I can give my students the opportunity to use it without problems. Is it enough to just verify the school? I don’t need to create an organization, but only a student account for a few months, just enough time to learn the main functions of Figma.
Hi, According to my research, Figma offers an Education Plan that allows students and teachers at verified schools to use its full features for free. As a teacher, you can apply for verification with your school email, and once approved, your students can access all the tools they need to learn.
If your school isn’t verified, your students can still use Figma’s Free Plan, which covers most basic design functions, perfect for a short-term learning experience.
We’ve got this help page that should give you a better understanding on how the education plan works.
There is also this page that specifically addresses setting up education status for your entire school (if that ends up being something you’re interested in).
For your specific scenario, I would recommend reaching out to our education team to see if they have suggestions. You can shoot an email over to education@figma.com to get a conversation going on what would be best for your needs.
