Possible to have layout grid be off-center?

Hi

I’m migrating a presentation from InDesign to Figma. One problem - this particular design involves a live area that is off-center. ie, the margin on the right side is larger than that of the left. It would be handy to be able to create a layout grid that corresponded to the live area. As far as I can tell, layout grids can only be centered on a frame, is that correct? If so, is there some other feature that would allow me to create some sort of reusable guidelines for my off-center layout? Thanks! I’m just beginning with Figma, hence the naïveté of my question!

best,
kurt

I know that question was posted some time ago, but maybe it will help someone.

  1. Add Layout Grid
  2. Select the “Columns” option
  3. Select type “Left”
  4. Use the offset option to define the margin on the left
  5. Calculate the column width and gutter so that the content width is what you need it to be
