It would be great if there was a new option for positioning overlays which would allow the overlay to open near the mouse cursor, no matter where the mouse is hovered or clicked on the trigger element.
For example, let’s say I have some truncated text and want a tooltip to show up on hover which shows the entire text without truncation. It would be useful if, when hovering anywhere on the truncated text, the tooltip would pop up just above the mouse.
If I move the mouse cursor around while hovering the overlay would move around in alignment with it. Or for click interaction, when I click at a different point, the overlay would move to the mouse where I clicked
This would also be useful for “contextual menus” and probably other UX ideas.
