The pink drag handles that allow for adjusting the spacing (either vertical or horizontal) between selected elements seem to only be visible at zoom levels of 50% and greater.
Please consider making these drag handles visible when zoomed out (< 50%) to make it easier to make layout changes without having to zoom in and out frequently.
