Link a component variant to another variant in a random page

Hi everyone, hope everyone is safe, i’ve been encountering an issue on Figma since variants were introduced! When setting up a variant into a component, i can’t find a way to link that specific variant into another components variant even if they’re on the same page.

I don’t know if anyone has faced this issue before or facing it and have come to a solution, if you have any tips please feel free to share them !

I think it would be be really practical to link a specific variant from a component to another component variant in the same or another page in Figma.

For instance, linking a variant call to action to another component located in a different page on Figma. Thanks!
