Interactive Text Field

Hi there.
I’m quite new to Figma so this is probably a very basic questions.

I’m trying to create a prototype with a text field that is actually usable by the user (so that in the prototype preview you can actually type something into the field).

It seems to be that it should be a basic feature, however I’m struggling to find a way to make it work.

Any help would be very useful, thanks!

Not sure this is doable, you can fake it with After delay. But, as far as I’m aware this is not possible — yet

It is possible to do in other tools such as ProtoPie. And you can do that in Figma with some trickery:

But this is not possible to use in the real-world scenarios. For now you can do something simple: when you click the input field, it gets automatically filled with expected data. Or just pre-fill everything, it’s just a prototype in the end, it doesn’t have to work exactly like a real app. However, I encourage you to vote for the ongoing feature suggestion: Interactive text inputs in prototype mode
