I recently ran into an issue. Inter font works well when it’s taken directly from Figma, but once I install it locally after downloading it from fonts.google.com, it seems to be limited to Bold and Regular options. I believe it worked fine just a few days ago, maybe it’s a bug caused by some recent update?
If I deleted Inter from font files, it would work well in Figma, but I’d lose access to Inter on let’s say Affinity Designer or elsewhere.
Inter also works well through browser UI, since it doesn’t use local fonts.
