Imported PNG images loose in quality

When I place PNG 32bit file even of small size it loses quality. Basically, it becomes another file. Is there a way to preserve original quality?

Bumping since I believe it’s important to make it clear for customers that imported lossless PNG is not lossless anymore even in a small size.
