I'm trying to create a drop down menu. I'm probably doing something wrong, and I am so lost

I’m new to figma, and while creating a drop-down menu using overlays I’ve been running into trouble. Whenever I go into present mode to see if the menu is working, I click on “books” and the menu opens up below instead of where it says “books.”

I think you have to manually place the overlay directly below where it says “Books” so the words overlap each other (and personally, I would not repeat the header word). You may have the overlay set to “Centered” or manually placed at the wrong coordinates.
