I always receive this email because I post one of my Figma link on the internet, but my original intention is not to invite people to edit my file. Just share my file as an assets or feedback collection space (remind viewers to comment). I think most people’s original intentions are not inviting a stranger to edit too.
Also I don’t think this “upgrade self as an editor” is a good idea in organization. I’ve been spending almost a week to remove almost 150 unintended editors one by one. I have to compare them with our company’s employee system, determining which really need edit access. In this perspective Figma drastically reduce my productivity instead of improving it.
I think you should reconsider this feature, although collaboration and monetization is really important for Figma.
