How do I export the <text> property out of figma for an svg?

When I export a text element as an svg, instead of saving the metadata of the text, it replaces it with a path element. I was wondering how I can keep the text element of the svg.

For example I currently get something like this when I export a text element:

I am expecting something like this:

When exporting, make sure to uncheck ‘outline text’
