Games UI tips / Designing for Unreal

Hello there, I am a UX/UI designer working for a games studio where we use Unreal.

I’m wondering if anyone has any tips for designing layouts? we are currently working at 1920x1080 and trying to stick to an 8pt grid where possible. This works fine and we can upscale easily to 4K 3840×2160.

However, we have heard that its a good idea to work at QHD 2560x1440, this is somewhat problematic in Figma in that I do not wish to work with larger Frames for performance issues and also, upscaling from 1920x1080 to 2560x1440 breaks all the font sizes and 8pt grid.

Really quite confused with this, so any tips more than welcome!

Cheers

Kie
