Disabled button stays active and jumps to 2nd variant

Hi folks, I have prev - next buttons on an image carousel which have 3 states set up as variants (default, hover and disabled).

When the carousel reaches the last image, the next button in that variant is set to disabled and has no interactions attached. However, when previewing, even though the button changes state correctly it remains clickable and when clicked jumps to the 2nd of the 5 carousel variants??? There are no interactions on the variant 5 button and I’ve even tried placing another frame over the top of the button to disable it but it’s still clickable.

Any help would be great.
