Change component width dynamically

Hi, community.

i’m designing a dropdown menu, everything is going great except the click area ( component width in this case ) :

its going into the other field’s click area, and i can’t scale the width of the component because it would mess up the dropdown

is there a way to change the width of the component dynamically? or if there’s another way around this?

This seems like a job for the Open overlay interaction. Set it to Manual to position the drop-down wherever you like.
