Figma introduced a useful feature that allows searching by type, author, or direction. It would be even better if you added tags, enabling us to search by tags as well. For instance, a large product company may have several different products, each with its own concepts and prototypes. We gather all concepts within a single project due to the sheer volume. Tags would help us filter them more efficiently.
@Alexander_Kashin hi! are you looking for this type of tag search within a file specifically (ex: you can tag frames and be able to search for all the frames named that in a file), or overall in Figma (find all objects/files that have a specific tag in the name)?
You mentioned that it would be helpful in a project, but I just wanted to make sure I understood entirely 😅
It appears that the ability to search by tags is comparable to searching by type, author, or direction. This feature could greatly enhance the search functionality within Figma, allowing users to efficiently locate specific content based on relevant tags. I agree that incorporating tag-based searching would be a valuable addition to the platform’s capabilities, streamlining workflows and improving overall user experience.
I’m responsible for reorganizing our team’s files 🫠
It would be SO helpful if there was a feature where I could implement a set of tags so I can add that tag to a file and have it show up in multiple teams or project folders. Would make our file organization SO much easier as we have certain team folders with different members and projects that apply to multiple teams, etc.
I am leading the content management of a company and search frames or objects by tags that were given to them before would make our work much more efficient! Please seriously consider building that tool. We love Figma, but the organization of large projects is still a challenge and could be made easier.
Hi Caitlin, if you also would like such a tool, please vote for this post at top of the page. It’s an indicator for Figma for the importance of topics. Thanks! 🙂
