Website Preview Loading Slowly on Mobile – Anyone Facing This Issue?

I’m experiencing slow loading times when previewing my website designs on mobile, especially when using the Figma mobile app or opening shared prototype links. The desktop preview works fine, but on mobile the pages take several seconds to load, and sometimes interactions lag or don’t respond smoothly. I’ve checked my device, internet connection, and file size, but the issue still appears. I’m wondering if this is a common problem or something related to my setup. Has anyone found a reliable fix or optimization method to improve mobile preview performance?

Hey @Eman Fatima PK — welcome to Figma Forum, and thanks for flagging this. Sorry to hear about the slow loading you're experiencing on mobile — let’s take a closer look together.

To help narrow things down, could you confirm that you’re running the latest version of the Figma Mobile App (if using on iOS, version 25.43.0 or later)? A new update with performance improvements rolled out recently for both iOS and Android, so that’s a good first checkpoint.

Appreciate you for double-checking your device specs, internet connection, and file size against our system requirements: What are the system requirements for Figma? One more quick thing to verify — are your desktop and mobile device connected to the same network when you’re previewing the prototype?

If everything above checks out and the issue continues, the next best step is to have our Technical Quality team take a closer look at the specific file. You can get that started by filling out this secure form and including:

  1. the link to this Forum post for reference
  2. a link to the file where this is happening
  3. Can edit access granted to support-share@figma.com for the impacted file
  4. a screen recording showing the issue in action.

We’ll help you get to the bottom of this — thanks for sticking with it and letting us know what you’re seeing.

Slow mobile previews in Figma are something a lot of people run into. Here are a few things to try + some potential causes:

  • Check that you’re on the latest version of the Figma mobile app, since updates sometimes include performance fixes.

  • Try reducing image sizes in your file — large or high-res images are a common cause of lag on mobile.

  • Minimize use of heavy effects like blurs, shadows, or too many variants/interactive components — these eat into memory.

  • If your prototype is very large, consider splitting it into smaller parts or separate files.

  • Be aware that Figma’s mobile preview uses an incremental frame-loading strategy, but very big documents can still push device memory limits.

If you try all that and it’s still laggy, it might be worth submitting a bug report + sharing your prototype file (with access) so support can take a closer look.
